When to consult

  • Visible blood in urine or microscopic haematuria requiring cystoscopy and imaging
  • Urinary frequency, nocturia, weak stream (BPH) or elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA)
  • Severe flank/loin pain (kidney or ureteric stone) for ESWL or ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy
  • Recurrent UTIs, urinary incontinence, phimosis/circumcision or scrotal lumps

Pre-consultation checklist

  • Arrive with a comfortably full bladder in case uroflowmetry, urinalysis or bladder ultrasound is needed
  • Bring recent PSA blood tests, urine culture results and kidney/pelvic ultrasound or CT reports
