When to consult

  • Unilateral blocked ear/tinnitus, blood-stained nasal discharge or neck lump requiring nasoendoscopy
  • Ear pain/discharge, sudden hearing loss, impacted earwax, tinnitus or vertigo (BPPV / Meniere's)
  • Chronic nasal blockage, sinusitis, nasal polyps, nosebleeds, snoring or suspected sleep apnoea
  • Hoarseness lasting over 2 weeks, foreign body / fishbone in throat or recurrent tonsillitis

Pre-consultation checklist

  • Bring prior audiograms, sleep study reports, sinus/neck CT or MRI scans and current nasal sprays
  • For suspected fishbone in the throat, avoid swallowing rice or vinegar and seek prompt endoscopic removal
