When to consult

  • Persistent upper abdominal pain, acid reflux, dysphagia, or anaemia requiring gastroscopy (OGD)
  • Rectal bleeding, bowel habit changes, or colorectal polyp screening via colonoscopy
  • Groin or abdominal wall bulge (suspected hernia) or right upper quadrant gallstone pain
  • Breast or thyroid lumps, painful/bleeding haemorrhoids or anal fistula, or skin cysts and lipomas requiring minor excision

  • Check whether your procedure can be done at a Day Endoscopy/Surgery Centre or requires admission to an affiliated private hospital
  • Request a written fee estimate (surgeon, anaesthetist, operating theatre & pathology fees) for VHIS or medical insurance pre-authorization
  • Review the surgeon's admitting private hospitals list on their profile to match your preferred hospital or insurer network
  • Bring prior ultrasound/CT/MRI/endoscopy reports and a list of current medications (especially blood thinners and diabetes medications)
